Black and White vs. Color

Who thinks that black and white movies are better or worse than color. Why? I personally think that the color or lack of color does not make a difference when I choose the movies that I like.

  1. i definately agree. i think it's a little harder to watch black and white films because they talk so fast. but they just don't make movies like 'his girl friday' anymore. the humor level of people has probably changed and directors are trying to appeal to a new generation of people while still keeping the interests of the older generations.

  2. I think that in black and white movies, it is a little harder to watch, because the sound is muffled and the picture goes in and out sometimes, while in color, most things are more clear.

  3. Hmm...I really don't have an opinion on whether black and white films are better or worse than color films. I find myself more likely to watch a movie with color because that is what is available now a days. I have seen black and white films and some of them are very good.

  4. I love old movies but for me the color doesn't mske s difference. I think that it doesn't make a difference with the overall performance in a movie. =)

  5. Color is so interesting in films even when just shades of black and white. There are some amazing film noir movies that just use light and shadow to create so many levels, detail, and meaning like Touch of Evil - they are amazing. I have to say though, I have a weakness for Technicolor. Something about the vibrant larger than life colors makes the film more "movie-like" if that makes any sense. Almost easier to fall into the magic with Technicolor, just think of traveling over the rainbow with Dorthy!
